Jennifer Colliau founded Small Hand Foods out of a need for pre-prohibition style syrups that were made with quality ingredients. As a bartender, cocktail creator, and beverage director she found a lack of authentic ingredients available, so she started making them for herself and her coworkers. Founded in 2008, there were no other products like these on the market: a meeting point between drink mixes and quality syrups crafted by bartenders for their bars. This market has grown with the rise of craft cocktails, but Small Hand Foods remains dedicated to pre-prohibition era syrups made with real food, no preservatives, and as many organic ingredients as possible.
