Robert Brittan got his start making wine in his dorm room at Oregon State as a Physics and Philosophy Major. From the mid-1980’s on, he served as Winemaker at esteemed Napa vineyards Far Niente, Saint Andrews and Stag’s Leap Winery. Drawn by the cool climate of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Robert and his wife, Ellen, purchased their 128-acre vineyard in 2004. They selected a site with distinctive soil composed of ancient, low yielding basalt deposits that impart a clear sense of place to the wines.
